A short post
The sovereignty of God.The Fall of mankind.
Think about this for a moment.
(And I just love that He called out to Adam, even knowing that he was hiding because of his sin. Adam was running away from God, and God still sought him out.)

Interesting.
Are you thinking that the Fall of mankind is sovereignly determined by God?
I believe the Fall of mankind in the garden was by the sovereign design of God. At least that is what I understand from Genesis 3 (which I read this morning).
He sought Adam in his sin, as He does us. When reading Genesis 1, and about the foreshadowing of the Savior even before the creation of man, I see that there was a plan for the redemption even before the fall occurred. So, God COULD have wiped the slate clean. After all, it was fairly early in history.
But He still SOUGHT out the man in his sin. God wasn't surprised by what He found, a cowering couple passing the buck to one another.
So, if we were chosen in Him before the foundation of the world, and at the laying of the foundation came the foreshadowing of the Savior, I can't escape the possiblity that God was sovereign over the Fall of mankind.
I don't know what "big picture" is going on here, but I do know that God can be trusted at whatever He is doing. I just connected the dots to find that God was sovereign over the Fall, and it actually gives me a LOT of comfort, that my God is in greater control of things than I often give him credit for.
I was told to introduce myself. I am a good friend of Gayla's. Nice checking out your blog!
Susan, while listening to Daniel tonight, the following caught my attention:
Daniel 4:34-35
At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored. Then I praised the Most High; I honored and glorified him who lives forever.
His dominion is an eternal dominion;
his kingdom endures from generation to generation.
All the peoples of the earth
are regarded as nothing.
He does as he pleases
with the powers of heaven
and the peoples of the earth.
No one can hold back his hand
or say to him: "What have you done?"
Marcian,
I thought of you yesterday when I found this post. More thoughts on the same subject:

Hmmm...
I need to add a few breaks or something to get that entire URL here:

God surely knew Adam, His creation in His own image, would break the one command he was given.
And yet, I believe it grieved the LORD, when he disobeyed, and brought such a curse upon all creation.
Thanks for sharing some deep thoughts to think on.
